This Anglican church in Phnom Penh was born in 1993, following the Khmer Rouge regime. It was a time of healing and rebuilding, both for the country and for the people seeking solace and community. Reverend Donald Cormack, with his gentle yet determined spirit, became the first vicar of this fledgling church. He, along with the early congregation, faced many obstacles. The church was, at first, a humble gathering space, not a grand building that many associate with a place of worship.

CCOP has evolved over the years, however. The early days saw fervent dedication from the church members, a tireless pursuit to spread the word across rural Cambodia. It was not just about the church walls but extending a helping hand to those in need. These efforts were led by Reverend Mok Wai Mung and his wife, Mee Hwa, who championed community development across the country. In 2013, the church welcomed Fr Gregory Whitaker, who focused on the international Anglican community in Phnom Penh. The church grew, necessitating a new premise in 2016. CCOP now stands as a beacon of hope, with its new building consecrated in 2018, celebrating a quarter century of serving the Khmer people.
