Amidst the bustling energy of Chiang Mai, a beacon of justice stands. This is the Chiang Mai Family and Juvenile Court. It’s a place where the complexities of family law intertwine with the hopes and futures of Thailand’s youth. Between May and December 2014, a dedicated team of teachers and foreign lawyers embarked on a mission here at the Chiang Mai Family and Juvenile Court. They provided specialized English language training to a group of 17 law students and up to 40 court officials, legal professionals, and judges. The impact of this program was significant. There was a noticeable improvement in the English comprehension and communication skills of the participants. This made a real difference in their ability to interact effectively with individuals at the Court. The success of this initiative led to requests from the Courts, prisons, and various Thai government departments for the training to resume in March 2015. The Chiang Mai Family and Juvenile Court isn’t just a building. It’s a vital part of the community. It strives to uphold the principles of justice and ensure the well-being of families and children. Its dedication to providing essential services and training highlights its commitment to a brighter future for the people of Chiang Mai.
