This entrepreneurial spirit carried him from these humble beginnings to King Saud University, where he earned a degree in commerce in 1963. From there, he served at the Ministry of Finance for a decade. This experience proved invaluable. It laid the groundwork for the Dallah Establishment, the precursor to his Dallah Albaraka Group, a vast conglomerate spanning finance, healthcare, real estate, and more. Kamel became known as a pioneer of Islamic finance, a title cemented by Malaysia’s Royal Award for Islamic Finance in 2010. He chaired the General Council for Islamic Banks.
