Al-Zubair Bin al-Awwam Mosque is about 150 meters from Qasr al-Emara Historical Palace. It’s also one hundred meters from the city’s fruit and vegetable market.
Al-Zubair Bin al-Awwam Mosque is one of the province’s oldest mosques. It was built in 1967. This happened during the time of Governor Khalid Bin Ahmed al-Sudairi. It served as the first mosque in the ancient flea market. This market was near Qasr al-Emara.
Imagine Al-Zubair Bin al-Awwam Mosque’s humble beginnings. The first structure was built with mud. Later a building for ablution was added. This reflected the architectural style of the south.

Consider the size of Al-Zubair Bin al-Awwam Mosque. It covers an estimated area of 1,436 square meters. This was pre- and post-renovation. This project was a part of the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Project for the Development of Historical Mosques. It can hold one thousand worshipers.
