Have you ever wondered about the history of tanks in Jordan? Right here in front of us is the Royal Tank Museum. It was inaugurated in 2018, and is a testament to Jordan’s rich military heritage. The museum is a treasure trove of tanks and armored vehicles from various eras and countries. In its 15 halls, you find tanks from the Great Arab Revolt, World War I, and World War II, as well as a section showcasing Jordanian military industries. The collection features a rare Rolls Royce Limited military car used by Prince Faisal. You can even see original Israeli military vehicles destroyed in the Battle of Karameh in 1968! This battle was a key moment in Jordanian history as it showed the world the strength of the Jordanian army. There is a detailed three-dimensional battle plan on display that shows how the battle unfolded. It’s fascinating to walk through and see how technology has evolved over the years. The museum is also dedicated to preserving Jordanian military heritage, and it does an excellent job of telling the story of the Jordanian army through interactive storytelling tools. This museum offers a wonderful family experience for Jordanians and visitors to Jordan alike. It’s an excellent place to learn about the history of tanks in Jordan and the region.
