“Why build a Russian Orthodox church in Thailand?” someone wondered aloud. The answer lies before us. This is \u0425\u0440\u0430\u043c \u0432\u043e \u0438\u043c\u044f \u0432\u0441\u0435\u0445 \u0421\u0432\u044f\u0442\u044b\u0445, a beacon for Orthodox Christians in Pattaya.
Today we explore this unique house of worship. It stands as a testament to faith and community. The church’s story began in the early 2000s. Many Russian tourists started visiting Pattaya. They longed for a place to practice their faith.
Before this magnificent structure existed services were held in a hotel. The owner of the Royal Cliff Hotel offered space. He was the Honorary Consul of Russia. His generosity allowed the community to gather and worship.
In 2008, a significant decision was made. The Orthodox Church in Thailand was officially registered. It became a legal entity. This paved the way for building a permanent church.
Igumen Oleg Cherepanin played a crucial role. He organized a meeting in Pattaya. The decision was to establish a church. It would be dedicated to All Saints. These saints shone forth throughout the ages.
The land for \u0425\u0440\u0430\u043c \u0432\u043e \u0438\u043c\u044f \u0432\u0441\u0435\u0445 \u0421\u0432\u044f\u0442\u044b\u0445 was acquired in the Naklua area. Generous donations made it possible. A contract was signed for the land purchase. State registration followed.
Construction began and finished quickly. It took only eight months. The Thai Takenaka company completed the work. Their professionalism ensured a beautiful result.
In December 2009, the completed \u0425\u0440\u0430\u043c \u0432\u043e \u0438\u043c\u044f \u0432\u0441\u0435\u0445 \u0421\u0432\u044f\u0442\u044b\u0445 was consecrated. This marked a new chapter. It was a place for the growing Orthodox community.
The church has two sections. The upper section is dedicated to All Saints. The lower section honors the martyr Photina. A special baptismal area is located here. It allows full immersion baptisms.
