“Extreme sports enthusiasts are awaited in Pechatniki”. That’s what they said when the Park of Technical Sports opened. This park is in the Pechatniki district of Moscow. It was created on the site of a former landfill. The grand opening of the Park of Technical Sports took place on September 4 2018.

Before the Park of Technical Sports was built this area was a landfill. It occupied 12 hectares in the 1990s. Reorganization started in 2011. They removed a lot of waste and strengthened the soil. The Park of Technical Sports was designed with tracks for technical sports. Apex Circuit Design Ltd from Britain designed it. Local residents and sports organizations helped. Public discussions took place from June to September 2018.

The park is on the left bank of the Moscow River. It is near the Kuryanovsky sewage treatment plants. It occupies 27.4 hectares. The Park of Technical Sports is divided into five zones for sports. There are four tracks for sports including motocross. There is also a multi-functional highway-ring track and a karting track. A separate area exists for drifting.

The motocross track is 1880 meters long. It can be used for competitions with professional motorcycles. The highway-ring track is 1000 meters long and 10 meters wide. It is ideal for car and motorcycle sports. The karting area is also 1000 meters long. The skate park covers more than 670 square meters.

A pump track for bicycles is 205 meters long. There are rental points for karts and motorcycles. The tracks have different reliefs. They are visible from many places in the park. The Park of Technical Sports also includes a skate area.

The infrastructure has pedestrian and bicycle paths. There are descents to the water. Benches and recreation areas are available. Around 700 trees and 1700 shrubs were planted. The selection took ecological factors into account. The Park of Technical Sports also has places for preparing shish kebabs. There are places with tables. The paths total 4 km. In winter it is used as a ski track.

In the early 1990s there was a landfill at this place. By the 2010s the area reached 12 hectares. In 2011 residents asked to eliminate the illegal landfill. In 2015 about 13000 cubic meters of waste was removed. In 2016 and 2017 more than 360000 cubic meters were removed. They moved over 180000 cubic meters of soil. They created a mound and brought clean soil.

In June 2018 they started building the Park of Technical Sports. The park has zones for different activities. There is a motocross track a highway-ring track a karting area a skate park and a bicycle pump track. The park provides a space for technical sports. It offers recreation areas and paths for walking. The Park of Technical Sports offers a place for sport and recreation. It is a good place for outdoor enthusiasts.
