Rimsky-Korsakov moved to this apartment at 28 Zagorodny Prospect in 1893. He lived here until his death in 1908. Four rooms have been meticulously restored. They offer a glimpse into Rimsky-Korsakov’s daily life. One of the most remarkable features of the Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov Museum-Apartment is the Becker grand piano in the living room. This wasn’t just Rimsky-Korsakov’s instrument. It was also played by other musical luminaries like Rachmaninoff, Scriabin, and Stravinsky. In this very room, Rimsky-Korsakov hosted his famous “Korsakov Wednesdays”. These were musical gatherings that brought together the brightest minds of the time. The museum also houses a collection of over 500 exhibits, including manuscripts, letters, and photographs.
