How did the Institute of Education Management RAO rise from the shadows of Soviet academia to face liquidation? The Institute of Education Management RAO is a non-commercial organization. It was created to perform work and render services. It ensures the implementation of the Russian Federation law in science and education.
Today we are standing before the Institute of Education Management RAO in Saint Petersburg. It is a place with a unique history. It reflects the evolution of educational thought in Russia. Let’s delve into the story of this institution.
The Institute was established by the decision of the Central Committee of the CPSU. The Council of Ministers of the USSR founded it on April 12 1984. It was originally named the Scientific Research Institute of Management and Economics of Education APN USSR. In 1992 it became the Institute of Education Management of the Russian Academy of Education.
Throughout its three-decade history the Institute of Education Management RAO has contributed to the field of education. It navigated different eras. The institute now faces a new chapter in its development.
In 2014 the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation reorganized the institute. It was merged with other educational bodies. These included the Institute of Socialization and Education. There was also the Institute of Information. The Institute of Pedagogical Education was involved. The Institute of Scientific and Pedagogical Information also participated. This merger aimed to consolidate resources. It would streamline research efforts.
However by August 25 2023 the organization was liquidated. The reason was the reorganization through merger. It marked the end of an era for this academic institution.
The Institute’s activities included scientific research. It also worked on development in the field of social sciences and humanities. It registered eight additional types of activities. The organization was a supplier in 47 government contracts. It acted as a customer in 127 contracts.
Despite its closure the work of the Institute of Education Management RAO has not been forgotten. Its research informs educational policy. Its publications continue to be valuable resources for educators.
