Whispers of history echo within these walls. We stand before the Detskiy Muzeynyy Tsentr Istoricheskogo Vospitaniya, the Children’s Museum Center of Historical Education. It’s a place where the past comes alive, not through dusty relics, but through interactive exhibits. The building itself has a story to tell. Located at 13 Bolotnaya Ulitsa, this wooden, three-story structure has witnessed much of Saint Petersburg’s rich history. Originally a residential building, it’s nestled among others with balconies and ornate carvings, whispering tales of families and lives lived. Its current purpose began in 1998. Then the Museum of Political History of Russia gave the building to the Children’s Museum Center. The center focuses on education, using interactive games and exhibits. It aims to engage children with complex historical topics, including the development of industrialization, the world of childhood across different eras, and prominent figures in Russian history. One special exhibit focuses on “Russia in the world’s oceans.” This exhibit showcases the role of maritime exploration and trade in Russia’s development.
