Established in 1991, GTRK Sankt-Peterburg has a rich history. It’s a cornerstone of broadcasting in Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast. GTRK Sankt-Peterburg isn’t just a name. It’s a broadcasting powerhouse. Its influence stretches across television, radio, and beyond. Initially, GTRK Sankt-Peterburg focused on producing programs like “Fifth Wheel”. These were broadcast on Channel 5. In 2005, a reorganization brought all of GTRK Sankt-Peterburg’s broadcasting under one roof. This unified their television and radio efforts. They secured all the necessary regional broadcasting rights. They essentially became the voice of this region. This solidified GTRK Sankt-Peterburg’s role as the main source of regional news. GTRK Sankt-Peterburg’s broadcasts reach viewers and listeners in various ways. You can find them on “Russia-1”, “Russia-24”, “Russia-Culture”, and “Radio of Russia”. They even have a presence on the “Radio Mayak” station. This wide reach ensures they can connect with a diverse audience. In 2017, Radio of Russia in Saint Petersburg launched full-fledged broadcasting on 99.0 MHz FM. Before this, GTRK Sankt-Peterburg conducted test broadcasts. These tests were under the name “Radio of Russia FM” and featured 1930s-1980s music. A federal broadcast from Moscow and the Moscow region was also included. More recently, since August 2017, GTRK Sankt-Peterburg’s television and radio programs have been tested. This is within the RTRS-1 digital package. Since August 22, 2017, GTRK Sankt-Peterburg programs have become available to all digital TV viewers. This access spans Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad region.
