The Hall of Glory is especially moving. It lists the 11717 names of those awarded the Hero of the Soviet Union. A bronze Soldier of Victory stands tall in the center. The eleven-minute 3D video show Road to Victory recounts key events. It runs hourly from 11 am to 7 pm.

Six dioramas depict pivotal battles. The Counteroffensive near Moscow in 1941 is shown. Stalingrad’s joining of fronts is also featured. The Siege of Leningrad the Battle of Kursk Bulge and the Dnieper crossing in 1943 are all displayed. Finally the storming of Berlin brings the war’s dramatic end to life.

A newer exhibit The Feat of the People covers the home front. It illustrates the vast evacuation efforts and the contributions of scientists and artists. This exhibit uses modern technology for an interactive experience.

The museum’s Path to Victory exhibit traces the war’s timeline. It starts with the Nazi invasion in 1941 and culminates in the 1945 victory. The sheer scope is immense. It’s a journey through the history of a nation’s struggle. It’s a journey through the heart of a nation’s pain and triumph.
