Stepping onto the grounds of Hirano Junior High School, attached to Osaka Kyoiku University, one can almost feel the energy of over 50 years of educational history. Hirano Junior High School, established in 1972, shares its building with a senior high school of the same name. This unique arrangement creates a vibrant atmosphere, where junior high students are exposed to the advanced learning and global perspectives of their high school counterparts. Located a short walk from Hirano Station, Hirano Junior High serves as a cornerstone of the local community. About half of the students attending Hirano Junior High School continue their education at the attached senior high school. This creates a strong sense of continuity and community within the school. Students come not only from Osaka but also from neighboring prefectures like Nara, Wakayama, Hyogo, and Kyoto, contributing to a diverse student body. While we stand here, imagine students bustling through these halls, preparing for their futures. Some may be dreaming of participating in the senior high school’s unique World Wide Learning Program. This program offers immersive experiences like study tours to Vietnam and Cambodia, allowing students to grapple with real-world global issues. Others may be looking forward to the English Salon, a weekly event where students interact with exchange students from Osaka Kyoiku University. Hirano Junior High School offers a solid foundation, preparing its students not only for academic success but also for engaged global citizenship.
