“The Best Is Yet to Come” proclaims Pastor Dominick Cotignola. These words resonate within the Bellerose Church of God. Dominick J. Cotignola has served as Senior Pastor here since April 2004. He first arrived at Bellerose Assembly of God in May 1998. Before becoming Senior Pastor he was Youth Pastor Young Adult Pastor and Associate Pastor.
Pastor Dom has a deep desire to share hope. This hope comes from a relationship with Jesus. His vision is for Bellerose Assembly of God to bless and influence the twenty-mile radius around the church. He often reminds everyone that “The Best Is Yet to Come”. Jeremiah 29:11 is one of his favorite verses. It assures us that God’s plans for us are good. These plans give us hope and a bright future. Pastor Dom grew up in Queens New York. He graduated from The University of Valley Forge in Pennsylvania. He now lives in Bellerose with his wife Rachel and their three children.
Rachel Cotignola is not only the Senior Pastor’s wife. She is also a graduate of the University of Valley Forge. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Rachel taught for ten years. Then she felt called by the Lord. She chose to stay home with her young children. This allowed her to take a bigger role in the ministry alongside her husband.
Rachel leads the Women’s In the Mix group. This group welcomes women of all ages and backgrounds. They come together to grow learn and become who God wants them to be. Under Rachel’s guidance the group has flourished. It has become a highlight for the women of Bellerose Church of God.
She first preached on Mother’s Day in 2010. Her ministry focuses on intimacy with Christ. She emphasizes loving and applying God’s word. Together Pastor Dom and Rachel form a fantastic team in life and ministry. As the church grows so does Rachel’s ministry and leadership. Rachel enjoys a hot cup of coffee. She loves traveling with her family. She appreciates the diverse cultures of Bellerose. Most of all she loves to laugh. She lives by Proverbs 17:22. It says “A cheerful heart is good medicine but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”
Next City Church has a vision. This vision is to reach the twenty-mile radius around the church. They believe God has given them a destiny of new land. They aspire to create a ministry that will impact New York City like never before. The church aims to meet needs and heal hurts. They recognize that apart from God they can do nothing. However if they remain in Him they will bear much fruit. They strive to move towards their destiny. Their goal is that the next generation would know.
Bellerose Church of God continues to evolve. It adapts to meet the changing needs of its community. The church seeks to convey the Good News to a new generation. It does so with relevant language and innovative approaches.
