Barefoot explorations await you at teamLab Planets. This museum in Tokyo offers a unique sensory experience. teamLab Planets combines digital art and the beauty of nature. It is a place where you become one with the artwork.

teamLab Planets opened in July 2018 in Toyosu. It was created by the art collective teamLab and DMM.com. The museum has become a popular art destination. Many local and global celebrities have visited.

At teamLab Planets, you immerse yourself in large-scale artwork spaces. There are four main exhibit areas and two gardens. The aim is to dissolve the boundary between your body and the art. The boundaries between yourself, others, and the world become continuous.

One of the newest features at teamLab Planets is the Garden area. It opened in July 2021. This area includes a garden filled with orchids. These orchids bloom in the air. They rise and fall as you approach them. Another garden features egg-shaped sculptures. These sculptures change appearance based on the time of day.

You must enter teamLab Planets barefoot. This is because some areas involve walking in water. One popular exhibit is the Drawing on the Water Surface Created by the Dance of Koi and People. Here, you can interact with digital koi fish. Your movements influence the patterns on the water’s surface.

Another highlight at teamLab Planets is the Infinite Crystal Universe. This installation features countless shimmering lights. These lights reflect and refract, creating an illusion of infinite depth. Walking through this display feels like entering a dream.

Outside the main museum area is the Public Area. Here, you can see the Universe of Fire Particles Falling from the Sky. This digital monolith looks like a pillar of fire. You can experience it without needing a ticket.

For those who want a snack, teamLab Planets offers vegan ramen. This is available in the Reversible Rotation-Non-Objective Space installation. The ramen is a collaboration with Vegan Ramen UZU from Kyoto. The Tokyo limited Flower Vegan Ramen is topped with edible flowers.

Tickets for teamLab Planets can be purchased online. This is recommended to avoid long queues. There are different ticket types for adults and children. You can get to teamLab Planets by taking the Yurikamome line to Shin-Toyosu station. It is a short walk from there.

teamLab Planets is committed to providing a welcoming experience. The venue is wheelchair accessible. Staff are available to help visitors. Remember not to use flash photography inside the museum. This can affect the appearance of the artworks.

Throughout the year, teamLab Planets offers seasonal changes. In spring, you might see cherry blossom themes. In summer, there are often more water-themed installations. These seasonal changes ensure a new experience each visit.

teamLab Planets is more than just a museum. It is a place where art and technology blend. It is a place where you can explore new relationships between yourself and the world. Enjoy your visit to teamLab Planets.
