Its mission is simple to share the wonders of geology with the world. The museum is housed within the James Hsioung Lee Building on the University of Hong Kong campus. It’s part of the Department of Earth Sciences the only such department in all of Hong Kong.

Inside the Stephen Hui Geological Museum you’ll find around 10000 catalogued specimens. These amazing rocks minerals and fossils come from all corners of the globe. Dr Stephen Hui a renowned mining geologist and philanthropist played a pivotal role in its creation. His personal collection forms the core of the museum’s Earth Materials gallery. His generous donation and the ongoing support of his family made this museum a reality.
