From humble beginnings to a global powerhouse, that’s the story of Ma’aden HQ. We’re standing before the central hub of Saudi Arabia’s largest mining company. Ma’aden, officially the Saudi Arabian Mining Co., is headquartered right here in Riyadh. Established in 1997, Ma’aden HQ was tasked with developing the nation’s vast mineral resources. It started as a joint stock company with the Saudi government holding 50% and the other 50% listed on the Tadawul stock exchange. Today, Ma’aden has over 8,000 employees and contributes significantly to the Saudi economy. The company’s influence extends beyond Riyadh. Ma’aden Gold Company operates from Jeddah, focusing on gold and base metals. The phosphate operations are based in Ras Al-Khair, in partnership with SABIC. Also in Ras Al-Khair is the Ma’aden Aluminum Company, a joint venture with Alcoa. This complex includes an alumina refinery, smelter, and rolling mill. It’s connected by rail to the phosphate mine in Waad Al-Shamal. Ma’aden HQ in Riyadh oversees this vast network. The company’s growth is a testament to Saudi Arabia’s commitment to diversifying its economy. Ma’aden plays a pivotal role in achieving this Vision 2030 goal. It’s more than just a building; it’s a symbol of Saudi Arabia’s ambition and its rich mineral heritage.
