It all started with a simple act of kindness. Ron and Joy Killingbeck, pioneering Assemblies of God missionaries, arrived in New Caledonia in 1967. While they sought to spread the gospel amongst the French-speaking population, they soon noticed a growing community of workers from Vanuatu. These workers missed their homes and spiritual connections, and the Killingbecks felt compelled to reach out. They started simple English services in their storefront church, quickly adapting to Bislama, the common language of Vanuatu. This proved to be a divine appointment, as many of these workers returned home to Vanuatu, carrying the seeds of the Assemblies of God faith with them.

Thus, We care ministry assemblies of God in Port Vila, Vanuatu was born. This humble church, located in the heart of the capital, became a beacon of hope and a testament to the power of reaching out to those in need. As the congregation grew, the church became a hub for community, offering support, fellowship, and spiritual guidance.

We care ministry assemblies of God, like its namesake, embodies the spirit of compassion and care. It serves as a testament to the enduring legacy of the Killingbeck family, their dedication to reaching out to the Ni-Vanuatu people, and their vision for spreading the message of God’s love throughout the islands.
