“Bang Malao” is the nickname for the Mosque Darul Abideen. This mosque is one of the most popular places of worship in Phuket for travellers and locals alike. It’s easy to find because it lies 2 kilometres away from Phuket International Airport. Although small and unimposing on the outside, built in a single storey, the mosque can host up to 400 people. You can easily find the mosque on Thepkasatri-Nai Yang Road. The mosque is on that road that leads to Nai Yang beach and the airport. It’s an important landmark for taxi drivers because the mosque sits in an area where many locals work, and it provides refuge for Muslims who are near the airport. You might even see a group of locals chatting in the mosque’s open-air seating area. Many come here to share knowledge and life experiences. The mosque is a lively place and the heart of the community.
