Ever wondered where businesses in Suriname get their start? The Kamer van Koophandel en Fabrieken, or KKF, is that place. It is located here on Prof. W.J.A. Kernkampweg.

The KKF is more than just an office. It is a cornerstone of Surinamese commerce. It helps companies before, during, and after their launch. The KKF also registers them in the company register. This register can be found on the Suriname Directory website.

Founded on May 1, 1910, the KKF began in the De Surinaamsche Bank building. Back then it was an interest association. It had only nine to eleven members until 1938. Today, it boasts nearly 30,000 members providing over 150,000 jobs.

Since 1936, the KKF has maintained the mandatory registration of all businesses in Suriname. It publishes information to guide businesses. This promotes entrepreneurship.

The KKF moved to this location in 2008. Before that, it was at Mr. Dr. J.C. de Mirandastraat 10. This building also houses the KKF Hall, also known as the Hall of Business.

Each year, the KKF organizes business fairs. One is from late November to early December. It attracts about 100,000 visitors from the Caribbean region. Another fair is the Agro ICT Made in Suriname fair.

The KKF offers many services. It manages the Trade Register and the Public Foundations Register. It represents the Surinamese business community’s interests. It promotes business development while respecting public interests.

Thinking of starting a business here? The KKF’s Entrepreneurship Support Center or ESC can help. The ESC offers information and assistance. It aids in starting, running, and improving your business. They provide matchmaking for local and international partners. The KKF offers training in business planning and start-up. Experts also provide one-on-one coaching to make business plans bankable.

So, the KKF is central to Suriname’s business world. It fosters growth. It supports entrepreneurs. The Kamer van Koophandel en Fabrieken helps businesses thrive.
