In 1948, the Villarosa real estate consortium sold the land to Banco di Sicilia. A competition was held to design monumental complexes. The group Della Rocca, Guidi, Incorvaia, Lenti and Sterbini won. Soon, the former headquarters of the newspaper L’Ora, the grattacielo Ina Assitalia and the Banco di Sicilia headquarters were built.

Carlo Broggi designed the grattacielo Ina Assitalia. His design won a competition. The CEFA company of the Amoroso brothers built it between 1952 and 1955. The style reflects the modern movement based on Italian Rationalism.

The grattacielo Ina Assitalia rises about 90 meters high. It stands in the city center. The main facade faces Piazzale Ungheria. This square is near the Teatro Massimo. The structure has 18 floors. A metal structure once held the illuminated Ina Assitalia logo on top.
