Poised majestically against Osaka’s skyline is the Umeda Sky Building. Completed in 1993 it is an architectural marvel. The Umeda Sky Building consists of two 40-story towers. The Floating Garden Observatory is open daily. You can visit from 9:30 AM to 10:30 PM. It is best to visit during sunset. The illuminated city views at night are spectacular.

Originally the building was meant to have four interconnected towers. Due to economic challenges the plan was reduced to two. Despite this the Umeda Sky Building stands as a testament to architectural vision.

Sekisui House is the main tenant of the Umeda Sky Building. Mazda also has offices in the East Tower. The German consulate-general is on the thirty-fifth floor.
