This illusion of a traditional castle, with its towering spires and gleaming facade, is strong enough to withstand winds of up to 110 miles per hour. Cinderella Castle is a testament to the ingenuity of Disney’s Imagineers. Their use of forced perspective creates the illusion that the castle is much larger than its actual height of 189 feet. This clever trick allows the castle to dominate the Magic Kingdom skyline without the need for a flashing aircraft warning light, which would be required by the FAA for any structure over 200 feet.
