Since 2002, the Bärenbrunnen has been the heart of a Bürgerfest. It is called the Bärenbrunnenfest. This festival happened because locals worked hard to fix up the fountain area. The Bärenbrunnenfest is a party by the people for the people. It is for everyone in Erlenstegen.
Imagine the Bärenbrunnenfest in full swing. Long before things officially get going, the benches fill up. Blue and white tents sell tasty treats. People chat near the Prosecco bar. The smell of grilling sausages drifts from Udo Rau’s team across the fresh-cut grass.
Kids play games. A museum sets up a Native American tipi. Then the Samba group from the Montessori School arrives. They are led by teacher Nils Pommer. Their drums and rhythms kick off the official fun. Victoria Pohl and Justus Böhm play jazz and swing music. This adds to the happy mood.
Annette Gröschner welcomes everyone. She is the head of the Bürgerverein. The crowd is diverse. Families mix with people of all ages. The sky stays clear. Fresh beer flows. Lines form at the grill.
But the night is young. Marc O. Vincent takes the stage. He’s a singer, an entertainer, and a master of impressions. He performs “Stars in Concert.” People can’t wait. For the first time, the Bärenbrunnenfest goes into the evening.
Vincent charms the crowd. He does rock, pop, oldies, schlager, swing, and soul. He copies stars like Elvis, Michael Jackson, and Tina Turner. The place turns into a party. Kids dance in front of the stage. Soon, more and more people get up. They raise their hands, sing along, and shout out the words.

In 2011, the festival had to move. It was the Bürgerverein’s 30th anniversary. It was also the 10th Bärenbrunnenfest. To save money, they held it at the Museum Industriekultur. Kids had fun with face painting. Adults enjoyed food, wine, and entertainment.
The “wild Hilde” sang a song just for the Bürgerverein. Even Mayor Horst Förther sang along. Museum tours were popular. Guests left happy.
In 2010, it was a hot July. The BrassKidz played big band music. Sixphones and Evelyn Borchard also performed. Kids roasted treats at a campfire. Despite a shower later, the Bärenbrunnenfest was a success.
