The Musée d’Art Naif Anatole Jakovsky is housed in the Château Sainte-Hélène. Once, it was the private residence of François Coty a perfume master. The château itself has an interesting history. In 1930, Yvonne Coty, François’s former wife, decided to renovate the building. She hired the architect H. Malgaud to remove decorations designed by Aaron Messiah. Later, in 1978, their daughter Christiane Coty sold the château to the city of Nice. The city transformed it into a museum. It opened its doors in 1982.
