Luckily, the people of Vanzago, together with their parish priest Don Masera and Mayor Giuseppe Meraviglia, decided to do something about it. In 1858, they brought in a renowned architect named Giacomo Moraglia. He had already designed many important churches in the Milan area, and he had a vision for a grander Chiesa dei Santi Ippolito e Cassiano. Just imagine: by 1860, the basic structure was complete and the church was already being used! However, it took a while for all the finishing touches and decorations to be completed, with the final consecration taking place in 1901. Today, the church stands as a testament to their dedication and a beautiful reminder of Vanzago’s past.
