Is it just me, or does that building over there look like a giant, beached dolphin? You’re right to laugh; that’s actually Dolphin Mall! It opened in 2001 and is one of the largest outlet malls in Miami. Dolphin Mall wasn’t always a shopper’s paradise. Developers initially envisioned it as a massive entertainment complex. They planned to include a roller coaster and a 28-screen Regal Cinemas! Can you imagine the lines for popcorn?
However, plans changed, and Taubman Centers took over. Instead of a roller coaster, they built a slightly smaller mall with 1.4 million square feet of retail space. But don’t worry, there’s still a 19-screen Cobb Theater. And you can catch the latest blockbuster after a hard day’s shopping. Dolphin Mall is also home to some unique stores. You can find Bloomingdale’s The Outlet Store and a massive Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World where you can gear up for your next fishing adventure.
