African oil palms became the new cash crop, transforming the landscape once more. Today, palm oil remains a significant export for the region. And then there’s Manuel Antonio National Park, a jewel in Costa Rica’s crown. Established in 1972, this park draws visitors from all corners of the globe. Its biodiversity is astounding, with monkeys, sloths, toucans, and the magnificent blue morpho butterfly calling it home.
