Imagine a place where art breaks free from canvas. That place is Digitaliseum. It is right here in Malmö. Digitaliseum is not your typical gallery. It is a portal into the world of digital artistry.

Founded in 2014, Digitaliseum is located in Malmö’s old industrial harbor. This location is only a short walk from the city center. It is a non-profit gallery. Digitaliseum focuses on contemporary digital art. It showcases both new and established artists. These artists come from Sweden and all over the world.

Digitaliseum is artist-run. Fredrik Weerasinghe founded it and also acts as its curator. The gallery also has senior gallery assistants. Their names are Vinuri Peiris and Rebecka Signäs. Gallery assistants include Nancy Armani, Jana Denisiuk, and Iris Ferra.

Digitaliseum is a member of The Swedish Association of Curators. It receives support from Malmö Stad Kulturrådet and Printhuset Electra.

In 2023, Digitaliseum exhibited Pontus Djanaieff and Fredrik Weerasinghe. Djanaieff graduated from Beckmans School of Design. He has designed for Iggy Pop and Metallica. Now, he creates art related to popular culture. Weerasinghe studied fine art in Italy and the USA. He graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London.

David Krantz has also exhibited at Digitaliseum. Krantz was born in 1965. He lives and works in Malmö. Krantz studied fine art at Forum Art School and Valand Academy in Gothenburg. He shifted from painting to digital art over fifteen years. His works feel lively despite their technological base.

Krantz’s works include ‘Monkey see, Monkey do’, ‘Bonobo’, ‘Zoo’, and ‘Chimpanzee’. Fredrik Weerasinghe photographed these pieces.

Digitaliseum offers a unique perspective on art. It is a place where technology and creativity meet. It is a space for artists to explore new formats. This gallery provides a platform for digital art to flourish.
