Built in its current form in 1963 Pildammsteatern stands proudly in Pildammsparken. It replaced an earlier open-air theatre. That older theatre was built for the 1914 Baltic Exhibition. A fire sadly destroyed it in 1953.
From its humble beginnings Pildammsteatern has seen it all. Think of the countless performances that graced its stage. From comedies and farces to opera and concerts. Pildammsteatern has entertained generations of Malmö residents and visitors.

Further renovations occurred in 2006. The stage floor was upgraded. A low limestone wall was added. It’s a simple yet elegant detail. Even a designated space for sound technicians was created.
Today Pildammsteatern remains a beloved venue. It continues its legacy of providing entertainment for all. Free performances and concerts fill the summer air. Pildammsteatern is more than a theatre.
