Have you ever imagined a farm in the heart of Las Vegas? The Las Vegas Farm is just that. It’s a unique landmark in the Las Vegas Valley. It has been a cherished destination since 1968. The Las Vegas Farm offers a welcome escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. It began modestly in 1961 when Sharon Linsenbardt sold chicken eggs to her neighbors. The casual egg sales evolved into hour-long tours of her property. The community interest grew, leading to the establishment of the Las Vegas Farm. Today, the Las Vegas Farm is not just a farm. It’s home to Barn Buddies Rescue, a non-profit dedicated to rescuing abused and neglected farm animals. Many of the animals you’ll meet here have heartwarming rescue stories. They came from difficult situations, finding refuge and care at the farm. Visitors can interact with a variety of animals. These include chickens, peacocks, ducks, geese, turkeys, goats, pigs, horses, cows, a mule, a llama, rabbits, cats, and tortoises. The Las Vegas Farm also hosts a weekend Farmers Market. Visitors can buy fresh produce, local honey, and homemade treats. All proceeds directly support the rescued animals. For a small fee, you can even buy hay to feed some of the animals. The staff will guide you on which animals to feed and how to do it properly. The Las Vegas Farm welcomes volunteers and relies on donations. The farm hosts a variety of events, including a Fall Harvest Festival with a hay bale maze and pony rides. The Las Vegas Farm isn’t just a farm. It’s a sanctuary, a community hub, and a testament to the power of compassion.
