“Ready to solve a crime?” That’s the question that hangs in the air as you approach CSI: The Experience at the MGM Grand. It’s not just an exhibit. It’s your chance to step into the shoes of a real crime scene investigator. Prepare to immerse yourself in the world of forensic science and solve a fictional murder mystery.
CSI: The Experience was created in collaboration with the show’s producers and forensic experts. The attraction spans 12,000 square feet. Over 175 expert consultants contributed to its creation. The construction alone took 3,740 hours. The total cost was around $5 million.
As you enter, you’re greeted by a replica of a forensic lab. It’s complete with all the equipment and tools used in actual crime investigations. You’ll receive a CSI-style kit. The kit includes a clipboard, evidence bags, and a flashlight. The kit will help you collect and analyze evidence at one of three crime scenes.
The first crime scene presents the murder of a woman in her hotel room. Another involves a shooting at a convenience store. The last features a car crash with a surprising discovery. Each scene presents unique clues and challenges.
Unlike a museum, CSI: The Experience lets you actively participate. You’ll use high-tech equipment like digital microscopes. You can use chromatography machines to analyze evidence. Every detail matters. Make careful notes. Work with others.
After gathering enough evidence from the lab stations and crime scene observations, it’s time to present your findings to a virtual “Grissom.” Input your agent ID. Then, complete an interactive debriefing. Solve the case. If you succeed, you’ll receive a CSI diploma. The diploma can be sent to your email.
CSI: The Experience is open daily from 9 AM to 9 PM. Shows start every ten minutes. Admission costs $31.50 including taxes and fees. It is located in Studio Walk inside MGM Grand. It is recommended for ages 12 and up. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
