This population consists of 107,426 males and 105,700 females. The Oforikrom Municipal District covers an area of approximately 49.78 square kilometers. This represents a small fraction (0.0192 percent) of the total land area of the Ashanti Region. Despite its relatively small size, Oforikrom plays a significant role in the region’s development. The district boasts a well-structured local government. It is led by a Municipal Chief Executive and includes fifteen elected Assembly Members, seven government-appointed Assembly Members, and a Member of Parliament.
