Back then, it was known as Sekolah Menengah Jenis Kebangsaan (Perempuan) Jalan Temerloh. It initially shared a space with Sekolah Menengah (Lelaki) Jalan Temerloh. This school is now called Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Titiwangsa. In 1973, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Puteri Titiwangsa moved into its own building. This marked the beginning of its independent growth. Originally, the school operated in a single session with English as the medium of instruction. A significant change occurred in 1983. The school’s name officially changed to Sekolah Menengah Puteri Titiwangsa. This new name reflected its location near Taman Tasik Titiwangsa. The name “Puteri Titiwangsa” holds deep meaning. “Puteri” means “princess,” symbolizing the school’s all-girl student body and their inherent feminine qualities. “Titi” represents a bridge, signifying the pathway to success that the school provides for its students. “Wangsa,” meaning “royal family,” embodies the strength, unity, and collaboration among the students. In 2021, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Puteri Titiwangsa had 636 students and 57 teachers. The school’s motto, “Usaha Tangga Kejayaan” (Effort is the Ladder to Success), encapsulates its commitment to hard work and achievement. The school’s vision is “Pendidikan Berkualiti Insan Terdidik Negara Sejahtera” (Quality Education for Educated Individuals and a Prosperous Nation).
