The Kigali Green Complex is unlike anything you’ve ever seen in Kigali. This isn’t just another skyscraper. It’s poised to be the tallest building in all of Rwanda. Standing at 29 floors above ground. And stretching another 6 floors below. This architectural marvel dominates the central business district. It sits proudly near the Kigali Convention Center. Replacing the former site of the Rwanda Ministry of Justice.
Imagine the hustle and bustle of Kigali’s CBD. Yet within the Kigali Green Complex there will be a tranquil oasis. The design incorporates green spaces and natural areas. It boasts an impressive 430 car parking spaces. There will be space for everything. Banks offices retail outlets. Even cinema rooms markets and restaurants. Even a clinic and pharmacies are planned.
This ambitious project is spearheaded by Ultimate Developers Limited. A subsidiary of the Rwanda Social Security Board. This ensures the complex generates income for the RSSB stakeholders. It’s also designed to provide upscale rentable space for businesses and individuals. The main contractor Shelter Group of Qatar promises exceptional quality. Their offices span across the Middle East Europe and Africa. The architectural firm behind this masterpiece is Vavaki Architects. They bring their vast experience to this project. They ensure it is not only visually stunning but also functional and sustainable.
What sets the Kigali Green Complex apart is its commitment to sustainability. It is intended to be Rwanda’s first Gold Rated LEED Green Well and Smart Mix-Use Complex. This means it will significantly reduce energy and water consumption. Minimising its impact on the environment.
The construction started in January 2024. Completion is expected by December 2027. When finished the Kigali Green Complex will be more than a building. It’ll be an icon.
