Did you know that the Bedfordview Methodist Church has been a spiritual home for nearly a century? It all started in the 1920s. Back then, Methodists in Bedfordview gathered in homes. They also met in the old Village Hall. The old Bedfordview Primary School and the current Town Hall also served as meeting places. Imagine those early days. People coming together for Sunday School and worship in simple settings.

The Bedfordview Methodist Church has a rich history. The congregation first met in private homes. Then they moved to the old Village Hall. Next they used the old Bedfordview Primary School. This is now the police station. They even gathered in the current Town Hall. It is diagonally across the road from where we stand now.

In 1965, a significant step was taken. A church was built on the corner of Van Buuren Road and De Wet Street. This building served as the main hall. Later, in 1982, the present sanctuary was inaugurated. This marked a new chapter for the growing congregation.

In 2018, the Bedfordview Methodist Church underwent substantial renovations. This expansion modernised the church’s interior and exterior. It also provided more space for its ministries and activities. That same year, the church celebrated its 95th anniversary. This milestone reflects its enduring presence in the community.
