Erwin Broner, a man of vision and artistry, arrived in Ibiza in the mid-1930s. He was captivated by the island’s traditional architecture. He began to weave his own narrative into the island’s fabric, a narrative that culminated in the creation of Museu Casa Broner in 1960. Located in the charming Sa Penya neighborhood, perched on a cliff overlooking the sea, the Museu Casa Broner is more than just a house. It is a testament to Broner’s unique architectural style. It is a blend of traditional Ibizan elements with the clean lines and solid shapes of the Bauhaus movement. Imagine standing in the house, surrounded by white walls and Sabina ceiling beams. The furniture, also designed by Broner, speaks to his artistic versatility. The house is a living canvas, displaying his paintings, drawings, and personal items. Thanks to Broner’s wife, Gisela, who generously donated the house to the City Hall, we can experience this intimate portrait of the artist’s life.
