Within the heart of Accra, Ghana, stands the Nsawam Road Church of Christ. This isn’t just a building; it’s a testament to faith, resilience, and community. The Nsawam Road Church of Christ began its journey in November 1968. It was initially known as the Accra Church of Christ in Kaneshie. A dedicated man named Bro. Daniel Ampadu-Asiamah, along with the support of his lecturers Gerald Fruzie and Samuel Obeng, spearheaded this initiative. They started by offering Bible Correspondence Courses. The church’s first home was a rented property in Adabraka. Then, in a pivotal moment in 1969, they found a new home. This was the Mission House at Osu RE, previously occupied by missionary George Boersman and his family. The church thrived under Ampadu-Asiamah’s leadership. In 1970, the introduction of the Men Training Class spurred significant growth, both numerically and spiritually. This expansion led to the purchase of a factory building in Kokomlemle. The move to this new location in November 1971 marked the official birth of the Nsawam Road Church of Christ. This site also became home to the Accra School of Preaching and the National Bible Institute, later known as Heritage Christian College. Under Ampadu-Asiamah’s guidance, the church expanded its reach, establishing congregations across Ghana’s regions. He collaborated with other preachers, further extending their impact. In 1974, a group of members, with the church’s blessing, returned to the Osu RE Mission House. Under Bro. Titus Agyare’s leadership, they formed the Osu RE Church of Christ, creating a second congregation in Accra. The Nsawam Road Church of Christ remains a beacon of faith. It aims to declare the gospel, support those in need, and guide its members towards godly lives. Its unique identity is rooted in the teachings of the New Testament, with Christ as its head. The Nsawam Road Church of Christ isn’t just a place of worship; it’s a living story of faith, growth, and dedication to community. It stands as a testament to the power of shared beliefs and the impact of one man’s vision.
