Despite these setbacks the church thrived. In 1944 a branch was established in Accra. It grew rapidly. In 1984 the church headquarters moved here. Missionaries from the UK provided crucial support. They helped strengthen the church’s foundations. The church spread its message. It established mission fields in neighboring countries. It even reached the United States.

In 1985 Ghana’s Apostolic Church gained autonomy. Apostle A Ofori-Addo became the first Ghanaian president. The church continues to expand. It has established 1500 local churches in Ghana.
