The yeshiva was founded in 1946 by Rabbi Eliezer Auerbach and Rabbi Yehuda Shapira. It was originally located in Bnei Brak. The institution moved to Haifa in 1970. Yeshiva Ohr V’Yeshua expanded under Dr. Avraham Bir. He oversaw the establishment of new educational programs and expanded the school facilities. This laid the foundation for its growth and prominence within the Jewish educational landscape. In the year 2000, the yeshiva was officially named Yeshiva Ohr V’Yeshua.
