Natural Bridge

High above the Li River a natural wonder awaits. This is the Moon Hill its arch a celestial gateway. Moon Hill stands majestically near Yangshuo. It’s a karst limestone formation. The arch resembles a bright moon hence the name Moon Hill. From different viewpoints the “moon” appears in various shapes. A new moon an old moon or a full moon. On clear days the blue sky white clouds and surrounding landscape create a stunning backdrop. On clear evenings you might even see the real moon through the hill’s arch. Reaching the “moon palace” requires climbing about 800 steps. It takes around 20 minutes. Once there various unique stalactites hang from the ceiling. The view from the arch is breathtaking. It’s a panorama of the Li River valley. This natural bridge formed from the remnant of a karst limestone cave. Water erosion shaped the unique formation.
