“Termites, roaches, spiders…Oh my!” That’s likely what Al Foster Sr. thought back in 1961. All-American Pest Abatement started with Al’s dream. He wanted his own business. He went door to door. He found people needing pest control.

Al Foster Sr. began All-American Exterminating on November 12, 1961. A large company photo from 1962 hangs in the main office. It shows Al Sr., Ruth, Pat, Bliss and friends. They all helped All-American get its start.

In 1962, Al’s wife, Ruth Bartz Foster, joined the business. Al found new customers. Ruth made sure they were happy. She handled billing and scheduling. Her organizational skills still guide All-American today.

Al and Ruth’s son, Al Foster, Jr., later managed All-American Pest Control. He started full-time in 1975. He had a business degree from Tennessee Technological University.

Erin Richardson carries on the family tradition now. She is Al, Jr.’s daughter. Erin’s brother, Blake Foster, is Director of Quality & Safety.
