Established in 1981, the Gyeonggi-do Gwangmyeong Education Office, often referred to as Gwangmyeong Office of Education, stands as a testament to the region’s commitment to learning. Initially part of the Anyang City Education Office, the Gwangmyeong Office of Education gained its independence and began its journey in a shared space with the Gwangmyeong City Hall. This marked the beginning of its dedicated service to the educational needs of Gwangmyeong. In 1986, the office relocated to Gwacheon City, signifying an important step in its growth. However, the Gwangmyeong Office of Education eventually returned to its roots in 1987, establishing itself in Anyang City once more. This move solidified its connection to the community it serves. The year 1991 marked a pivotal moment for the Gwangmyeong Office of Education. It was officially designated as the Gyeonggi-do Gwangmyeong Education Office, solidifying its role within the larger educational landscape of Gyeonggi Province. This transition further empowered the office to oversee and support the educational institutions within its jurisdiction. Another significant change occurred on September 1, 2010. The office underwent a renaming, becoming the Gyeonggi-do Gwangmyeong Education Support Office.
