Whispers of faith echoed through Bountiful. Redeeming Life Church wasn’t always here. Its story began long ago a blend of two distinct congregations.

First Southern Baptist Church of Bountiful held its first service in 1960. It started as a small Bible study. The group met in an American Legion Hall. Later they built their own building at 240 West 1500 South. This humble beginning grew. The church thrived for decades under various pastors. Their dedication was unwavering. In 2000 they moved to a new building at 696 North 400 East. The church continued to evolve. In 2016 its name changed to Good Shepherd Fellowship.

Meanwhile a different story unfolded. In Salt Lake City Bryan and Lisa Catherman felt a calling. They desired to reach out to the lost. Their vision led to Redeeming Life Church’s founding in 2015. It started with a Bible study in their home. The small group grew. They held services in a community center. Their outreach expanded to Rose Park Fair Park and Glendale. They also served North Salt Lake Woods Cross West Bountiful and Bountiful.

Redeeming Life Church’s early days involved prayer walks. They distributed gospel door hangers. Street evangelism was a key part of their mission. They even held an Easter Sunrise service in a park. They led public Bible studies. They trained people for missionary work. They baptized new believers.

God then orchestrated something unexpected. He united two churches. Before the COVID-19 pandemic began Pastor Bryan and Pastor Mike from Good Shepherd Fellowship met. They discussed ways to work together. They both agreed to merge. Redeeming Life Church and Good Shepherd Fellowship became one. The vote took place on August 9 2020. Pastor Bryan became the Lead Pastor. Pastor Mike served as Transitional Pastor. He later retired.

The church continued its growth. They added Robbie Tschorn to lead worship. Pastor Josiah joined as an Elder and then as full-time staff. In 2024 Pastor Bryan moved on. Pastor Josiah became the new Lead Pastor.

Today Redeeming Life Church stands strong a testament to faith perseverance and God’s guiding hand. It’s a place of worship a place of community a place where two distinct journeys converged to form one powerful body of believers. Its story continues to unfold. It is a story of faith hope and love.
