The park has seen significant changes. A recent $4.5 million renovation transformed it. This renovation included rebuilding two playgrounds on Arthur Avenue. New playground equipment and spray showers were installed. The area also features new plantings a lawn and a sitting area. This investment is part of a larger $200 million initiative. This initiative focuses on improving parks throughout the Bronx. The funding came from the City Department of Environmental Protection. This was a trade-off for the construction of a water filtration plant under Van Cortlandt Park.
