Let’s talk about some of the dinosaurs you might see.

Tyrannosaurus rex was a solitary predator. It roamed alone through open forests. It had the largest brain of all dinosaurs. Scientists believe T. rex could see, hear, and smell very well.

Triceratops was a horn-faced heavyweight. It was nine metres long. It weighed up to twelve tonnes. It had horns over a metre long. This herbivore only used its weapons in an emergency.

Quetzalcoatlus was the king of the primeval skies. It had a record-breaking wingspan. It was around ten metres. It is believed to be the largest flying vertebrate that ever lived.

The Natural History Museum in Berlin houses many dinosaur fossils. It has the largest mounted dinosaur skeleton in the world. It is a Giraffatitan.

The museum’s dinosaur hall is amazing. The Giraffatitan skeleton is from the Tendaguru beds of Tanzania. German paleontologist Werner Janensch recovered the bones. This happened between 1909 and 1913.

The Giraffatitan is 13.27 metres tall. It’s an impressive sight. The long-tailed herbivore probably weighed 50 tonnes when alive.

Another highlight is the Archaeopteryx. It is a transitional fossil. It shows the link between reptiles and birds. The “Berlin Specimen” is the most complete one discovered. It was found in the Solnhofen limestone beds in 1871.

The museum also has an Allosaurus cast. Allosaurus fragilis was a large carnivore. It lived during the Upper Jurassic period.

The Museum für Naturkunde is expanding. The expansion will cost over 600 million euros. The exhibition area will increase. It will go from 5,000 to 25,000 square meters.

Dinosaurs like those at the Dinoteich and in the Natural History Museum fascinate us. They connect us to a world long gone. The Dinoteich offers a glimpse into that world. Enjoy your prehistoric adventure.
