On a crisp winter day in December 2005, Baleum Church emerged in Seoul. It was a culmination of divine providence and fervent prayers. Pastor Byun, initially pastoring in Ulsan, encountered a group of intercessors in Seoul. They were praying tearfully in Imun-dong. This meeting marked a pivotal moment for Baleum Church. Pastor Byun had a deep desire for truth. He immersed himself in studying the Word and extensive reading. He even wrote a best-selling book titled “Christians Going to Hell”. This book unexpectedly propelled him into the spotlight. It set the stage for his journey to fulfill a calling he received in high school. He had dreamt of establishing a church dedicated to restoring nations. The Imun-dong intercessors had a vision. They saw a small fire starting in Imun-dong. This fire then spread to Seoul, all of Korea, and eventually the world. This symbolized the beginning of a revival. They believed it would surpass the miracles of Pensacola and the Azusa Street Revival. The intercessors at Imun-dong learned about Pastor Byun’s book. They deeply resonated with the teachings. They began sharing the book within their community. Through dreams and visions, they felt a divine calling to support Pastor Byun’s mission. Initially, they thought they would have to move to Ulsan to serve him. But they received a message from the Lord. Pastor Byun was to come to Seoul to establish Baleum Church. This church would serve as a base for national and international missions. including North Korea. Remarkably, Pastor Byun had also received divine guidance. He was independently led to establish a church in Seoul. This church would contribute to missions in North Korea. It would also expand his ministry globally. And it would train warriors for a great revival and harvest. The convergence of Pastor Byun’s vision and the intercessors’ calling led to the swift establishment of Baleum Church. The first service was held in March 2005 in Bangbae-dong. Within a short span, the church experienced remarkable growth, prompting several relocations. It moved to Seocho-dong, then Nonhyun-dong, and finally to its current location in Ogeum-dong. Baleum Church continues to flourish. It remains dedicated to the Great Commission. It serves souls with unwavering truth and the pure gospel. Its focus remains on the revival that started in Imun-dong. It will continue to spread until the Lord’s return.
