Shopping options abound in Etimesgut. Metromall AVM is a popular choice. Completed in 2017 this large mall has five floors including two basement levels.

The local football team Etimesgut u015eekerspor has seen its popularity rise. This is thanks to the hiring of former national team player Sergen Yalu00e7u0131n.

In recent years Etimesgut has been the site of significant development. A new building is under construction to house the Turkish National Intelligence Organization the Ministry of National Defence and the Turkish General Staff. This “security campus” is comparable to the US Pentagon. It is part of the measures taken after the failed 2016 coup attempt.
