Perhaps you’ve noticed the striking architecture as you approached. This is the Las Vegas Spring Mountain Stake Center. It stands as a testament to faith and community in the heart of Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Spring Mountain Stake Center has a rich history. The building was built in 1978. Soon after, in early 1979, a Wicks organ was installed. Dick Mitchell installed this Wicks organ. It became one of many he worked on. Interestingly, it’s the fourth oldest organ in the Las Vegas valley. It still plays in its original location.

Let’s step inside and imagine the sounds. The Wicks Organ Company created Opus 5760 for this very building. Its pipes and stops create beautiful music. The Great division boasts an 8′ Principal and Gedeckt. It also features a Gemshorn, Praestant and Rohrflute. A Blockflute and Mixture add to its tonal variety. The Swell division offers an 8′ Rohrflute and Gemshorn Celeste. A Koppelflute and Principal 2 add to its unique sound. The Pedal division grounds the music with a 16′ Subbass and Lieblich Gedeckt.

Beyond the music, the Las Vegas Spring Mountain Stake Center focuses on family. It promotes home-centered religious education. The Church supports families in their gospel study. Programs like “Come Follow Me” encourage daily scripture reading. Vanguard Scouting offers family activities and service opportunities. LIFE School Curriculum provides a gospel-based homeschool option.

Family history also holds great importance. Resources are available to explore ancestry. The Las Vegas Nevada Temple stands as a spiritual beacon. It is separate from the Las Vegas Strip’s worldly distractions. Its six spires mirror the red desert peaks of Sunrise Mountain. The temple welcomes visitors to walk its peaceful grounds.

The Las Vegas Spring Mountain Stake Center continues to serve its community. It was created on June 25, 2006. Robert L. Christiansen was its first president. This stake is one of many in the Las Vegas area. Each plays a role in the city’s spiritual landscape.
