Established in a humble basement on November 18 1984 the New Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Shurch began its journey. Pastor and Sister Robinson’s home at 20275 Forrer Street Detroit Michigan became the first sanctuary. Their children and four of the Pastor’s sisters formed the initial congregation. This small gathering quickly grew reflecting the vibrant faith of its founders. The New Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Shurch wasn’t just a place of worship. It was a testament to perseverance. It was a family a community.
In January 1985 the church was formally organized at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church. Rev Frank Robinson Jr was elected Pastor. This marked a pivotal moment a formalization of their commitment to serving God and community. The New Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Shurch was no longer just a mission but an established entity.
Growth continued. On July 21 1985 the church purchased its first building a storefront on Puritan Avenue. This move represented tangible progress. Then on April 24 1994 another milestone. The church moved to its current location at 4438 Rosa Parks Boulevard Detroit Michigan. This wasn’t just a change of address. A place to nurture faith grow together and serve Detroit.
Pastor Robinson a dynamic man of God has led the church since its inception. Ordained in 1983 he holds an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity. He’s served in numerous leadership capacities within the community. He’s a loving husband father and grandfather deeply committed to his flock. The New Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Shurch thrives under his guidance. His leadership exemplifies the church’s core values.
Today the New Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Shurch continues its ministry. It offers various programs including the Immanuel Bible Institute Christian Leadership School founded in 2005. The church actively engages in community outreach reflecting its mission to serve.
